THE UNIVERSE IS WAITING, YOU HAVE TO THROW THE BALL BACK
We’re three weeks into the new year which means by now you’ve been bombarded with Instagram ads selling you the hottest diet plans, excessive shaming if you’ve already “given up” on resolutions and you’re probably feeling like welp, I haven’t made any goals yet and there goes an entire month… what’s the point?
If you listened to the latest solo episode on the Facing Fear podcast, you know I am right there next to you if you’ve felt burnt out, unmotivated and unsure of what’s next as we transition from 2020 to 2021.
In the book Big Magic, the author, Elizabeth Gilbert, says, “Trust that the universe is in constant play and it wants to play with you.” What she means is no matter what comes your way in life, you have to keep throwing the ball out there. You have to get back up. Whether it’s a 90 MPH pitch because you’re feeling all the confidence in the world or a lob because you’re feeling unmotivated, you have to throw the ball.
I’ve been lobbing it lately and living a slower life without 100 different goals in front of me. And I’ve finally started to feel the universe is still at play with me.
In these first few weeks of the year I’ve taken advantage of some opportunities that have landed in my lap I’m sure otherwise, I would have been too busy to participate in. I’ve gotten to flex my freelance writing skills for a favorite brand of mine, help a consulting client of mine land a promotion and complete a few puzzles (my new favorite hobby).

What if you sat back and let your goals come to you? What if you listened in the silence, instead constantly filling the void with noise?
Please feel free to share your answer with me in the comments below. It always feels good to write it out!
