FACING FEAR: I HAVE CANCER
You're reading that correctly. I, Sara, a healthy 30-year-old, has breast cancer. Let me tell you, the big C does not discriminate. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 on October 14, 2021.
Essentially overnight, I went from a normal AF human, to someone now associated with the cancer community. I've been told I have "the best of the worst news." I caught it early, it's slow moving and definitive. It's been an emotional rollercoaster trying to grasp this is happening because the rest of me feels 110% FINE! But something inside is absolutely not fine.
I've decided to come out of my 100 day break and document this journey, because knock on f*cking wood, this is the ONLY time I'll have breast cancer in my life, so I might as well capture what happens, emotions, the ups, downs...all of it. You can listen to my latest episode, Facing Fear: I Have Breast Cancer now, on your favorite podcast app.
I'm not sure where this journey will take me, but I feel it's important to share to raise awareness and provide comfort to anyone else going through a scary diagnosis.
