Listen & Celebrate Black History Month (Part II)

Over the past two weeks, I’ve put together bits and pieces of the stories from guests on this show who have shared their experiences on being Black in this country. Their willingness and vulnerability brings me back to the main mission of this show which is to provide a platform for those who may not be able to tell their stories otherwise. And of course, to hear how they’ve faced and conquered fear along the way.

  • 3:06 - Joshua Sims is originally from Gary, Indiana, an area in Northwest Indiana with a reputation that often outweighs what the city is actually like. Once called the "Murder Capital of the US," citizens of this underdog city are determined to uplift their city, including Josh.

  • 13:04 - Facing Fear LIVE with Through2EyesIndiana Owner, Sampson Levingston is now available on the Facing Fear IG! Sampson created a small blog to a booming touring business he calls his Walk & Talks. We talked about facing fear in growing his business and provide historical facts about Indiana celebrating Black History.

  • 14:23 - Matthew Brents spontaneous episode arrived on the show through my inititave, You Have My Microphone, where I invite people of color onto the show to share their lives as Black Americans. Matt’s episode was incredibly impactful and inspired many listeners to reach out and thank him for sharing.
