Fuck Cancer Merch is LIVE! And It's Not Cheugy

As I’ve leaned into the big C word, I’ve slowly become more familiar and ok with being a part of this community. I’ve heard and it’s so true, it’s the sisterhood no one asks to be a part of.

My mom right away started sending me tshirts from Amazon, dear lord, and I’ll be honest, they were all cheugy.

Do you guys know what that word means? It’s a word that became really popular during the pandemic. Cheugy is a slang adjective mocking someone or something as uncool – they are out of touch with current trends or trying too hard to be trendy. It’s mostly a word used ironically. Example include the chevron pattern, having home décor consisting of the words live, laugh, love, and pretty much the entire LuLaRoe brand. And… these shirt my lovely mother was sending me.

Now, I’m not saying my mom is cheugy, it’s just the entire branding of breast cancer support stuff out there is… bleh. Please don’t misunderstand, if these Amazon fashion pieces bring someone else comfort that is awesome and great, but for me, I couldn’t find anything that portrayed how I wanted to feel. Like my own superhero, strong, badass.

I’m excited to tell you TODAY, there’s a whole line of merchandise available on my website at facingfearwithsara.com/merch.

Be your own superhero. I learned this from an inspiration of mine, Emily Schromm. When there isn't a cape that fits you just right, a color out there that represents just right or a logo you feel empowered by... make it yourself. That what's this f⚡️ck cancer & facing fear logo means to me... being my own superhero when I need it the most.

You'll notice "facing" and "f⚡️ck" are bolded and the lead words of both phrases. They’re the action half of the logos meant to inspire movement in a more positive direction.

Fear and cancer are thinner fonts and the bottom half of the logos. While scary yet meaningful, they will not be a part of our lives forever. They may never truly disappear, but they'll get smaller, take up less space in our heads and eventually be a vibrant chapter of our past.

Whether you're facing cancer yourself, know a loved one or want to cheer up a friend going through it, I made all of this with you in mind.

PROMPT
Be your own superhero. I dare you to believe in yourself.

Please feel free to share your action item with me in the comments below. It always feels good to write it out!
